I’m a travel enthusiast who has visited over 60 countries. I speak Japanese, English, Swedish, and a little Spanish, and I’ve dabbled in more than 10 other languages. For me, talking with local people is the best way to truly understand a place, and it’s this joy of discovery that inspired me to become a guide. I also travel with my child and understand the challenges of family trips, so I’m happy to support travelers of all ages and groups. The walking tour at the Tenjinbashi shopping district was a very fulfilling experience as it was very different from the mainstream touristy places. We could see a lot of shops filled with local atmosphere and learn a lot about Japanese culture and history from those sho. Tenjinbashi district is a very lively place which has some really cheap and good options for food and clothing. Walking along the street and experiencing the same things which the locals here experience a unique experience.

I have always been fascinated by the Kanji characters and the idea of getting one as my own personal stamp (hanko) was very exciting for me Carving your own hanko under the master’s instruction was an enriching experience. I was saved by the craftsmanship of the hanko master at the places I couldn’t carve so well. I recommend hanko making to the people who want to experience the essence of the Japanese culture.

We have traveled the world and I must say that Tokie is one of the best guides we’ve ever had. She is professional and knowledgeable, but more than that, she is compassionate, kind, honest, patient, and caring. It felt like spending 2 days with a good friend. Her communication before the tours was A+. She answered every question I had in a timely manner and offered practical and cost effective ideas and suggestions for our first visit to Japan.
