Japanese seals can be made of wood, bamboo, stone, horn or plastics etc.
The seals acts as a signature in Japan.
With the seal you will create during this workshop, you will be able to stamp your business cards, letters, or even works of art!
At this activity, you’ll make your one and only personal stone seal with stone, which is easy to be sculpted.
You will carve what you wish with a stylus, and the craftsman will assist you in carving your nickname in Japanese hiragana or katakana or kanji.

〈About this workshop〉
“Tougei” – Pottery is one of the oldest technologies in the world and Japanese pottery history started more than 15,000 years ago.
In this activity you can make your own ceramics with a craftsman’s advice.
- • Decide what kind of plate or cup you want to create.
- • Knead clay and shape up a model based on what you want to create.
- • Shape the clay up on a pottery’s wheel .
- • Design patterns and lines on the clay.
The craftsman will then bake your ceramics in a kiln, but it takes more than 1 month so you cannot take it directly back home. The craftsman can send your ceramics to your home if you pay extra fee for shipping.
After work you will have some drink and sweets.

Ikebana, the Japanese flower arrangement, is one of Japan’s most famous cultures. For Ikebana, materials can be not only flowers but also leaves, sticks and moss, and even the shapes and thickness of sticks and stems are important to express the feelings.
The sense of balance and the idea of beauty are different from those of Western flower arrangement. They differ even among schools in Japan.
Ikebana seems difficult to try, but you can learn the Japanese sense of flower art with some advice! In this activity, you can learn how to arrange flowers in Japanese way. A flower arrangement expert will teach you how to make balance and harmony in your flower work at her atelier. After work you can take photos with your work at the atelier and enjoy drink and sweets.
You can take the flowers back to your hotel.

<About this workshop>
In this activity, you can learn how to draw manga simply and well from a professional illustrator, and the illustrator will draw your portrait.
1. Meet at subway Minami-Morimachi station and go to the illustrator’s office.
2. Choose what character you would like to draw from these below.
– Songoku ( Dragon Ball)
– Luffy (One Piece)
– Sailor Moon
– Hello Kitty
– Rilakkuma
– Kumamon
– Any other request
3. Learn how to draw a well balanced figure and expression as you like from a professional illustrator. This takes 30-40 minutes.
4. The illustrator will draw a portrait of you. In just about 30 minutes you can get your own portrait!
***You can also get your portrait in a digital data format if you want to use it on a computer.
You can get a different pattern from the paper one. It takes extra 30 minutes so that the illustrator can decide the design.
The portrait will be sent to you after 1 week by e-mail.

Let’s visit an organic farm in the country and learn about organic farming!
People think that Osaka is a huge city with lots of people and skyscrapers, but once you step out of the city center, you will find amazing scenic countryside just a couple of hours away from the city. People living there have a slower life and grow what they eat.
In this activity, you will visit an organic farm in Nose, which is a countryside in the north part of Osaka, and learn how to manage the farm with some hands-on practical agriculture work.
For lunch, you will eat some dish with seasonal vegetables which grow up in the organic farm.
How about visiting the countryside to see beautiful nature and think about the source of our daily food?
